About FWDN

Federation of Women with Disability- Nepal (FWDN) is an organization that advocates for the promotion and protection the contribute in promoting and protecting the human/women rights of women with disabilities working across the country, starting by nine members organizations from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Gorkha, Dhanusha, Rupandehi and Kanchanpur district from five provinces. FWDN is an umbrella organization led by Women with Disability established in July 2020. The working modality will be implementing the program through member organizations of FWDN by coordination and collaboration with federal, provincial, and local government stakeholders. FWDN has been mainly focusing programs are on Education & Inclusive Education, Health, Menstruation Hygiene health, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, Gender-Based Violence, Disability based violence, Formal and informal Employment, Participation and Representation,  Economic Empowerment, Capacity Building and leadership Development, Disaster and Humanitarian action, Accessibility, Psychosocial Counselling, and legal aid support.

FWDN's board members have whole experience and qualified those working for a long time in the disability movement. It has excellent strength of the disability rights experts to contribute in society for the upliftment of Women with Disability in Nepal.

FWDN will believe in the Human Rights-based approach and twin-track approach. FWDN's Main aim is to raise the united voice of women with disabilities for the rights of girls/women with disabilities. For this aim fulfill, mainly FWDN will do awareness and advocacy lobby, networking, collaboration and coordination, campaign & movement building, organizational development, and sustainability for the disability inclusive development (DID) in the mainstreaming development process. It will collaboration with INGOs, NGOs, OPD, local, province, and federal government. It has worked, and implementing modality is mobilize of the members' organizations. During the one year of its persistent engagement to deal with various issues of women with disabilities, FWDN has been able to bring several ideas to share on several platforms.
