National Consultation and Reviews along with all Provincial Representatives on Beijing +30 by Women and Girls with Disabilities in Nepal
Federation of Women with Disabilities Nepal (FWDN) and National Indigenous Disabled Women Association-Nepal (NIDWAN) conducted a two day "National Consultation and Reviews along with all Provincial Representatives on Beijing +30 by Women and Girls with Disabilities in Nepal" with the support of Disability Rights Fund/Disability Rights Advocacy Fund on 23rd and 24th September 2024 (Monday and Tuesday) at Pension Vasana Hotel Dillibazar, Kathmandu. The co-partner organizations in the National Consultation of the project were: National Deaf Federation Nepal (NDFN), Society of Deaf-Blind parents Nepal (SDBP), National Association for Sign language Interpreter (NASLI), Independent living center Kathmandu (CIL, Kathmandu) and Spinal Cord Injured Network (SCINN) along with working committee officials and staffs.
On the first day of the consultation, we were truly honored to have the esteemed Chief Guest Parliamentary member/President Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee hon. Bimala Subedi, Special Guest National Women Commission Hon. chairperson Kamala Parajuli, National Human Rights Commission Hon. Member Prof. Dr. Surya Prasad Dhungel. The session was facilitated by Beyond Beijing Committee Chairperson Ms. Krishna Kumari Waiba, where she introduced us about BPfA and its 12 critical areas and the importance of Review. Similarly, National Network for Beijing+ Review (NNBN) convener Mr. Sabin Shrestha facilitated a session on: Beijing +30 Review, its relevance to diverse women and girls with disabilities, and effective advocacy strategies.
Likewise, the second day of the consultation was led by consultant Mrs. Tanuja Basnet. There was active participation of seven provincial and Federal level representatives as well as other stakeholders from organizations of persons with disabilities.
